The city of Youngsville is excited to bring Parks and Recreation to the residents of Youngsville. While Parks and Recreation have always been showcased through the Youngsville Sports Complex, expansion is necessary to properly serve the continually growing number of residents.
City officials and Youngsville Sports Complex staff have added five new leisure parks located throughout the city of Youngsville. Mayor Ken Ritter has strategically acquired these properties located along floodways throughout the city, allowing these recreational areas to double as additional drainage support for residents.
Four of the parks will be highlighted by large ponds. These ponds will not only help mitigate flood waters, but are surrounded with amenities including professional landscaping, walking trails, restrooms, a dog park, and much more.
Foster Park, Youngsville’s oldest recreational park, was acquired by the city of Youngsville in 2021. Immediate updates included new sod on the playing fields, dugout and pavilion covers, bleachers, and more. A new restroom and concession building is curently under construction, with more plans on the horizon. Parks and Recreation remains at the forefront of Youngsville’s continued growth and success.
Parks and Recreation Director, Tim Robichaux stated, “The core philosophy of our program revolves around recreation. Quality recreational areas and programming establishes a tremendous foundation for our youth and adults alike, creating strong families and a vibrant, energetic community.”
