The Executive Director of the Youngsville Chamber of Commerce is the senior executive responsible for the day-to-day operations, strategic leadership, member engagement, and public representation of the Chamber. This individual drives growth and innovation while supporting the Chamber’s mission to promote economic development, business success, and community partnerships.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy Leadership & Board Engagement
- Provide vision and leadership aligned with the Chamber’s mission and strategic goals.
- Work directly with the Chamber Board of Directors through the President.
- Attend all monthly board meetings (first Wednesday of each month) and Chamber luncheons (second Wednesday of each month, unless replaced by a major event).
- Report to the President of the Board; in the absence of the President, report to the Vice President, and in their absence, to the Secretary.
- Take minutes at board meetings in the absence of the Secretary.
Membership & Community Engagement
- Serves as the brand ambassador for the Chamber within the community and at events.
- Visit new businesses in Acadiana to encourage membership.
- Present new members with a welcome packet and membership letter.
- Work to retain current members through ongoing communication and outreach.
- Coordinate with the Ambassador Chair to organize ribbon cuttings and grand openings.
Revenue Generation & Fundraising
- Increase Chamber revenues and find innovative ways to generate income.
- Oversee all fundraising activities, but including but not limited to the annual Chamber banquet.
- Identify sponsorship opportunities, partnerships, and income streams to support Chamber sustainability.
Event Planning & coordination
- Plan, coordinate, and execute networking events including monthly Chamber luncheons, ribbon cuttings, Sweet Life After Five, and Business After Hours events.
- Collaborate with the Ambassador Chair on planning Sweet Life After Five and Business After Hours events.
Operational & Financial Management
- Assist the Chamber Treasurer with bookkeeping and budget tracking.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting practices are followed.
- Monitor financial activities to maintain fiscal responsibility.
Communications & Public Relations
- Manage all Chamber email communications to members.
- Send regular updates including event reminders, member promotions, grand opening, and community news.
- Represent the Chamber publicly, engaging with local leaders, media, and other organizations to promote Chamber initiatives.
Reporting Structure
Reports to: President of the Board (Vice President or Secretary in their absence)
Supervises: Contractors and volunteers as applicable
Key Qualification
- Leadership experience in business, nonprofit, or community organizations.
- Strong relation-building and communication skills.
- Experience with event planning, fundraising, and membership development.
- Knowledge of the local business environment, especially the Acadiana region.
- Proficiency in administrative tools, bookkeeping, social media, and digital communication.

Schedule: Regular business hours (8:00 am – 4:30 pm), with availability for early mornings, evenings, and weekend events as needed.
